How to Pay Off Debts Fast

Pay off debts fast with some good planning and financial discipline. The following steps will help you get out of debt without stressing your finances too much.

Instructions

    • 1
Understand how much debt you have. Using credit cards often puts people out of touch with their money. You'll need a clear picture of where you are financially if you want to make a workable plan for getting out of debt fast. Gather all of your bills (credit cards, loans, etc.) and add the totals to get a clear picture of your debt. Write down minimum monthly payments, due dates and interest rates for each. Contact creditors to negotiate lower interest rates. Lower interest rates lower your debt burden making it easier to pay off your bills faster.
    • 2
Make a repayment plan. If you have several creditors, choose the one with the least amount owed. This is the one you should pay off first. Make minimum payments to all of your creditors except the one you are targeting for payoff. As you make your repayment plan, explore your motivations--why do you want to pay off debts fast? Generally, working toward something with a specific purpose will improve your chances for success.
    • 3
Review your income and expenses. Write down and examine your income and expenses carefully to find the money you will need to make extra payments on the targeted debt. Look for any places where you can cut back. Clip coupons, go for basic instead of premium cable, bring coffee and lunch from home, etc. Look for opportunities to save and bring in additional income (carpool, sell on eBay, consider consignment or turn a hobby into an income-generating activity).
    • 4
Direct all of the money you earn and save to your targeted debt. If possible, make payments weekly or bi-weekly to reduce your average daily balance (on which finance charges are based). You can do this easily by adding the creditor to your online banking service. As soon as the money becomes available in your account, you just point and click to pay.
    • 5
Repeat the steps until you are debt-free. Chose the next smallest debt and direct your financial energy (including the money you were paying monthly on the debt that has been retired) toward paying off this bill.

LADY GAGA ORGANISING CHARITY CYCLE RIDE

LADY GAGA is organising a charity cycle ride to raise awareness of body image issues.
The pop superstar launched her own charity, the Born This Way Foundation, earlier this year (12) to empower youngsters and stop bullying, and she recently won praise from campaigners for talking publicly about her own battles with eating disorders and self-esteem issues.
She is now stepping up her fight by teaming with Soul Cycle, a U.S. company which offers indoor cycle spinning classes, to put together a charity bike ride in aid of her foundation.
Lady Gaga has dubbed the event the Ride for Compassion and she is urging her fans to get in touch and share their ideas.

We want to know what is important to you in relation to body image and helping those w (with) disabilities. What do u (sic) want this ride to accomplish?"

HILARY DUFF WORRIES ABOUT RAISING SON IN SPOTLIGHT

Former child star HILARY DUFF worries about bringing up her son in the spotlight, and insists she would be reluctant to let him follow in her footsteps by entering showbusiness.
The actress, who gave birth to Luca in March (12), shot to fame as a youngster playing the title role in Disney teen sitcom Lizzie McGuire, but admits she would think twice before letting her little boy pursue a career in Hollywood.
She tells Parents.com, "I'd say, 'Are you sure?' (if my son wanted to act). My sister and I said that same thing to my mom, and she encouraged us. I'm so happy she did, and I would not change my life for anything. But it's tough, and it's totally different than it used to be.
"I am even scared of (Luca) growing up getting his picture taken all the time and feeling different. I saw a rag magazine the other day - I was having my hair done or something - and the headline said, 'Who Wore It Better?' and the photo showed (Tom Cruise's daughter) Suri Cruise and so-and-so's kid. They had the same dress on, and (magazine editors) put these kids up against each other. I'm just thinking that this is sickening. Now that I'm a mom and I have a child, I can't imagine. It's not right."

JENNIFER ANISTON INVESTS IN HAIR CARE COMPANY

JENNIFER ANISTON looks set to launch her own hair care line after becoming a celebrity spokeswoman and investor in a burgeoning beauty brand.
The Hollywood actress became a hairstyle pin-up in the 1990s when her famous 'Rachel' cut made waves on hit TV sitcom Friends, and she later became a model for a L'Oreal shampoo line.
Aniston now looks set to build on her hair appeal by becoming an equity partner in a rising company called Living Proof.
The actress has invested in the firm and she will also become the face of the brand, starring in marketing and advertising campaigns, while she will also be involved in the creation of new products and package design.
Aniston admits it was the company's science-driven approach which encouraged her to become an investor.
She says, "I have been approached many, many times (about this kind of deal)... You want to be part of something that's exciting and authentic. You can't get more interesting than these scientists... (I was) fascinated by the scientific approach."
Living Proof chief executive Jill Beraud tells the Wall Street Journal, "We believe that beauty and brains are the best formula. She (Aniston) represents everything we represent as a brand."

Victoria Beckham pregnant with fifth child?

Mother of four Victoria Beckham has sparked a pregnancy riddle after avoiding alcohol and admitting strange food fads.

The number seven is reportedly the Beckham clan's lucky number - footballer David wore the numbered shirt during his reign at Manchester United, and the couple named their daughter Harper Seven - so a fifth child would take the Beckham family count up to their magic number.

"I'd never say never about another baby," fashion designer Victoria, 38, was recently quoted as saying in an interview, and now she's fuelled the reproductive fire by dropping hints that her current unruly brood might become even more unruly next year.

An "insider" told Heat magazine that while Victoria was in London to participate in the Olympics Closing Ceremony, she was "talking about having some strange food fads and she didn't drink at all, not even to celebrate after performing at the Olympics."
Said gossip went on to divulge that Victoria's behaviour "led to some of her friends asking outright if she was pregnant and she just smiled in response."
David and Victoria Beckham, who are based in Los Angeles, already have sons Brooklyn,13; Romeo , 10; Cruz, 7 and daughter Harper, 15 months.

"We've always said we'd love a big family and five was a number," said LA Galaxy and H&M pin-up Beckham recently. "If we're lucky enough, then we hope to have one more."
